On 30 august 2012, the Chess In Schools – CIS Agreement was signed between his Excellency Minister of Education of Lebanon Hassan Diab, the Lebanese Chess Federation (with its President Nabil Bader) and FIDE President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov.
The implementation of this project will start mid-September 2013 in 100 schools all around the country.
The Lebanese Chess Federation will provide the 100 schools with all the support needed for the success of this project from training the teachers, educational program, chess materials, books, chess events, competitions…
In this prospect, the Lebanese Chess Federation will organize an 8 hours seminars for teachers and successful candidates will be awarded the National title “Chess School Instructor SI”.
• Introduce chess to children and children to chess
• Teach children the basics of chess
• Inspire in children an appreciation of and a love for chess.
The ideal teacher of physics is not an Einstein, but someone who likes physics and loves teaching. So it is with teaching chess, especially to young children.

Deadline for registrations Tuesday 3rd October for seminar 3.
Up to 25 participants (by priority) for each Seminar.
Successful attendees will grant a National Chess School Instructor Title necessary for the FIDE Chess School Instructor Title.
A manual for instructors will be distributed for free among the registered participants (in English or French)
• Know the FIDE Laws of Chess (Basic Rules of Play).
• Be familiar with the FIDE Laws of Chess (Competition Rules). ‘Be familiar with’ in the sense of being acquainted with, knowing something about, but not being an expert on.
• There is no rating requirement (the title holders can be unrated).
• Attendance at a training seminar (TRG, CIS or other FIDE approved).
